The application always hangs

I have an iPhone that is up to date as well as having the latest version of Blackboard and I am totally unable to access any of my courses. I reload the app, I redownload it, I have tried everything and nothing has worked. Absolutely unusable.

It used to be tolerable at best. It kept logging me out and if I tried to go back to the previous page, it would sent me all the way back to my classes. But I kept using it because at least I could upload my assignments. Now I can’t even see my assignments at all. When I click to open the class, it just keeps loading. I tried to wait, but it just won’t open. I tried to go through the calendar and clicking the assignment directly, but the same issue arises. Horribly buggy and overall aggravating experience.

This app is rendered unusable from unnecessary "security features". - Logs me out when I close the app - Logs me out when the app is open for too long - Makes me manually input username and password every time I want to log in, sometimes with two-step verification as well Hopefully they can fix this one day (they won't), maybe with Face ID login or something. Even my banking apps are more convenient than this, and unlike Blackboard, security actually matters for those.

I repeatedly get kicked out of my own classes (I am an instructor) with the error message that I do not have permission to see my own content.

Blackboard mobile needs to be worked on because it has potential! Many people use mobile because of how accessible (and affordable) it is. Heavy on accessible! I don’t need to get up or go out to use a computer— if I have my iPad or iPhone that works just fine. That being said, I hate how professors do not allow Blackboard mobile to be used because of how underdeveloped it is. Some images do not load, answers go to the wrong questions, and you can’t even turn in Onedrive files?? That’s my current problem. Please fix Blackboard, you would be helping A LOT of people out immensely and we would appreciate it.

Courses do not open even though my app and phone are up to date. App always has some “issue” notification. When the app DOES let me look at my course page, it’s extremely slow

I have used this app for 2 years for classes, this past year it tells me that I am not enrolled and when I try to log out it kicks me out of the app. I have to use the internet version to submit any assignments.

don’t know what happened recently but the app seems to take every single possible opportunity to freeze and crash. can’t scroll modules too fast, can’t open pdfs. may as well delete the app and open it in a browser

This needs to be fixed immediately! The app says that I’m not enrolled in any courses so I can’t access my art class to upload pictures and assignments that can’t be done on a computer. Please fix this issue now!

Just straight up does not work on my iPad or iPhone running the latest OS. Either won’t load any content and gives an error code, or loads content and proceeds to immediately crash. Tried deleting/reinstalling; no luck.

My college utilizes blackboard for grading and whatnot and I have to say nothing is efficient in the app version. For the three years I’ve had to suffer through using this app, not once has it been updated to actually be more useful. My biggest pet peeve is signing in. I should not have to sign into this app on my phone every single time in need to use it and especially not with two factor authentication. The app should know by now that this is, in fact, my device. Not to mention every other time I go to use it, it has some kind of error that won’t let me access any of my classes, as if school doesn’t bring enough frustration as it is.

Every now and then I get kicked out of the app. And sometimes the classes don’t load. Everything seems to always be a little lagged.

ok i can now finally use the app like it was intended but it logs me out almost every time i close the app and sometimes while i am using it

I love using blackboard for my school work because it’s so easy for me

I can appreciate the ability to access blackboard on our portable devices, but it can get a little annoying having to input ID/PW and verify identity every time I sign in. I propose allowing students easier access to blackboard through facial recognition or something similar.

I have to log in EVERY TIME I open the app. It’s very annoying and inconvenient.

I can’t see instructor feedback on graded work on the mobile app. I also can’t view Echo360 videos on the mobile app.

I hate the new update. I don't want to log in every time I use the app. Sometimes I want to quickly access the class, but I have to log in first, and this makes me really angry. I've been using Blackboard for more than three years, and everything was fine. I don't understand why this new update.

Awesome school app can be used on iPhone

If I could give 0 stars I would. Before it logged me out every time I exited the app and now it won’t even let me log in on the app. How am I supposed to use this for class if I can’t even log onto it on my iPad or phone. It keeps leaving me on a log in page and won’t even let me submit it!!!! I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I updated and everything idk what else I’m supposed to do.

This app constantly crashes and also logs you out constantly.

This app will not stay signed in so you never get your updates. Then to sign in it’s two factor identification, every single time. It is absolutely ridiculous. This app is horrible.

The app won’t even load anything and when it does it takes too long to load and it closes itself out. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled plus resetting my network settings thinking it’s my phone when it’s obviously not. I can’t even use it at all so I have uninstalled it completely. Not worth my time with this app when it doesn’t even work properly.

Can’t see pictures

Their calendar doesn’t work, It makes you sign in every time, doesn’t show correct dates, what is there good about this app? mobile integration is terrible… the list goes on. pay your devs more or fire them.

Developers should be ashamed for pushing features that are broken to production... assignment uploads are buggy and often don't consider my submissions unless i log on the website and click submit. I lost many points because of this. Scroo u people. I would fail if i submitted an assignment that was this buggy Smh.

This app and this software in general is just beyond atrocious to say the least! It’s confusing and it’s an outdated app that needs to be shut down! It doesn’t keep you logged in, it doesn’t have push notification reminders of what is due, it doesn’t have a grid like canvas does that lets you know what assignments are due and when they are due, and you have to dig through all of these stupid files just to find what work is due! It makes learning impossible and a headache!!

The app never works, nothing ever loads, every time I open it I get an “there seems to be an issue” alert. The classes i’m in never load, it just says “enrolled in no classes”. Documents also do not open in the app. Very poor experience, do not recommend using this app.

This app has constant issues logging in. I will put in my password and get a blank white screen that never loads. Same happens with 2 factor authentication. Sometimes takes 5 attempts just to log in. Really unacceptable.

I have routinely had to write my professors asking for extensions because this app/program crash… This is easily the hardest part of going to school

Ever since updating to Blackboard Ultra the app has been borderline unusable. There used to be settings where you could export downloaded documents straight from the app to other apps but ever since they configured the download settings differently that is not possible. I am not sure why they would update something that was already working and make it 100x worse. It seems there is a new issue at every turn with every feature on the Blackboard app and it is easily one of the slowest loading apps I have ever owned. I am so defeated that I have to use Blackboard for my schoolwork.

This app has only loaded correctly ONCE. Every time I open it there is an error message “oops there is something wrong on our end.” I’ve deleted and reinstalled it multiple times and my phone is up to date so I don’t know what’s going on. At this point, it is absolutely useless to me and a detriment to my education.

My lectures are posted as PDFs and I am only able to see the first page. It also will now let me download and save to my files to view it in another format. It only offers epub or beeline reader which neither will load the contents. Very frustrating as I only have an IPad or my phone and it does not work for either.

I never actually loads after I sign in. Just a white screen. Please fix soon!

Since my Spring 25 semester started, I can’t even login on the app. I have to use my laptop. So much for convenience regarding the phone. Hopefully this can be resolved quickly.

I need this to do my college assignments and yet it doesn’t load anything!!! Every time I open it I get “oops there’s an issue on our side. Try again later” FIX IT PLEASE!!

upon pressing the red log in button, it opens a new browser window in the app and the signs me into only blackboard on that browser. i never even enter the app, instead just having to do everything on the browser. what’s even the point of the app if it’s just going to give me an even worse browser version of the website AND never keep me logged in. absolutely awful app.

Ever since the end of the fall semester, I haven’t been able to long in to the app. I just deleted the app and tried reinstalling but now it won’t even download. I have plenty of storage on my phone and my friends are also having trouble logging in. I’ve tried everything I could think of and nothing works, I haven’t been able to get any notifications for assignment updates

I am unable to use my sign in from Microsoft from work

Canvas keeps me logged in for literally years, but I can’t stayed logged in to this app for more than an hour.

App has not been working properly on my iPad or phone since spring 2025 courses began. nothing loads or updates in the app, and no matter the time i get a pop up "There seems to be an issue on our side. Please try again later." I am unable to access any of the course content or updated grades through the app at all.

blackboard is never working anywhere and it never loads the assignment you have to do, it just keeps saying that there’s an error, you would think that since it’s an app that is used by students they would try to fix these problems faster

One of the most annoying apps ever. Everytime you open the app, you have to log back in. Even though I received the notification and when i clicked it I have to log back in.

This app was great, but since this semester started, I haven’t been able to get any of my current classes to load. I downloaded the newest update and it still doesn’t work at all. I can’t get ANYTHING to load. Just says that there’s a problem on your end. Please fix this. I loved the convenience of having blackboard easily accessible. Could it be related to the “duo” two-step authorization schools require now for any login?
